money4blogging's Reading Room
The Computer Wars
by: Angel
I was just rereading todays entry and realized I probably come across as some brat that only thinks about myself and the time I can have online. So I was hoping that by adding in a little story here would help clear things up.
I will say that my mom is a computer addict. She spends most of her waking time [when not working] on the computer. Usually playing pogo.
When she is home, that means I have a hard time getting an hour or two to do everything I need for my websites, checking my email, and the blogging I do for my boss. Basically, I have a hard time getting in the chance to get the things done that I need to do - that are in a way my job. That's how I make money.
I try not to sound whiney when it comes to knowing a day is coming up where I will have to struggle to get everything done while listening to mom repeat "are you done yet!!??" every 5 minutes. It is my moms computer, she pays for the internet. It's all hers so I try not to get in the way of her addiction.
So when I say mom's going to be home a couple days and I've got to prepare, it's not my way of complaining. I really do get everything I can done ahead of time as long as I have warning. That way I won't lose out on anything when she is home so I won't have to worry about getting on and listening to her complain because it's "her day off".
